We’ve been busy here at Commonplace Fun Facts, to expand the size of our audience in our ongoing plans for world conquest in our never-ending quest to inform, entertain, and inspire as many people as possible. To that end, we have a couple of things to announce:

For those who are used to typing commonplacefacts.wordpress.com into the browser, we are happy to announce that we have saved you a few precious moments and keystrokes. Our new address is nice and simple: commonplacefacts.com. The old address will still get you here, but we prefer to let you use your precious time to read our content, rather than fiddle with keystrokes.

Now Available as a Podcast!

As often as possible, we try to have new articles go live at 9:00 a.m. EST. We suspect that some of the crazy traffic we encounter on the way to work might be a result of too many people trying to read Commonplace Fun Facts while driving. If it is for other reasons, we can’t fathom what they would be. In any event, as a public service, most articles will be offered as a podcast so you can listen without taking your eyes off the road.

Advertising Because … Well, We Are Capitalists

You will also see a change in the way advertising appears, thanks to an upgraded account with WordPress. Yes, we admit we rake in the money off of every ad. When we are not otherwise occupied with scattering all that moolah around on the floor and rolling around in it, we do keep a close eye on the nature of the advertising. We do not have direct control over the ads that appear, but we do have the ability to object to anything that might offend our (or your) delicate sensibilities. Commonplace Fun Facts is family friendly. If you see anything that is objectionable, please make us aware of it.

In other words, we are really, really grateful to you and all of the readers of Commonplace Fun Facts for giving us the motivation to keep writing and producing. We are grateful for the suggestions (except for a few of you who really need to seek professional counseling), the comments (except for a handful of you who should consider that there are plenty of decaffeinated brands on the market that are just as tasty as the real thing), and most of all, the regular visitors to our site. If it were possible to reach out and hug each one of you…. Well, frankly, we wouldn’t do it because all of the staff value personal space and really don’t like being touched. Trust us, though, that we wish we could personally express to each one of you how flattering it is for us that you keep coming back. You’re either our kind of people, or you are serious gluttons for punishment. Either way, thanks again!
