Merry Christmas From Commonplace Fun Facts
Skye, our beloved Boxador Canine-in-Chief of Commonplace Fun Facts, has graciously given the staff the day off from fun-fact-finding-frivolity. She has commanded — We’re not kidding; she really does call all the shots around here — that we extend her best wishes to each of our readers for a blessed Christmas. She has also graced us with this poem that she wrote last night while waiting for Santa to appear:
A Boxador’s Merry Christmas Wish
by Skye
‘Twas the morning of Christmas, at Commonplace HQ,
Skye stretched on her bed and wrote this greeting for you.
The Canine-in-Chief of Commonplace Fun Facts
Had stayed up all night—no naps, no snacks!
For weeks she’d been planning, her patience immense,
To meet Santa Claus—it all made such sense.
With her tail at the ready and her ears on high,
She watched for his sleigh to streak ‘cross the sky.
And oh, what a moment when Santa appeared!
With jingles and laughter that Skye held so dear.

She greeted him warmly, her tail in a blur,
And Santa himself gave her coat a soft stir.
“Ah, Skye,” Santa chuckled, “you’re famous, you know,
The star of your blog, with that tail’s happy glow!”
From his bag, he brought gifts—a bone and a ball,
And Skye wagged her thanks as she welcomed it all.
The night was pure magic, her heart filled with delight,
As Santa took off in the cold winter night.
“Keep spreading fun facts,” he called from his sleigh,
“And bring joy to the world in your special dog way!”
Now Christmas had dawned, and the house was abuzz,
With wrapping and laughter and holiday fuzz.
Skye, though exhausted, wore a cheerful bright grin,
For this was the best Christmas she’d ever been in.
“To the readers,” she barked with a proud little cheer,
“You’ve made this a wonderful, magical year.
With your clicks and your shares, your laughs and your likes,
You’ve given us joy and occasional “yikes!”
Commonplace Fun Facts is better because
Of the joy you bring to our quirky blog cause.
So Merry Christmas, dear friends, and a Happy New Year—
You’re the reason we thrive and keep spreading good cheer!”
And with that, Skye yawned, her mission complete,
She curled up once more with her new Christmas treat.
But we heard her exclaim as her bone she attacked,
“Merry Christmas to all, from Commonplace Fun Facts!”
