Lord Frederick North (1732-1792) was Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1770 to 1782. He was described as an otherwise unremarkable man whose sole quirk was that he would go to bed on October 9 and not get up again until March 22.
As Prime Minister during most of the American Revolution, he conducted all business during those months from his bed. He even held dinner parties in his bedroom so he would not have to climb out from under the covers.
